Samba Dieng

Senior International Officer and Executive Director, Office of Global Engagement, Louisiana State University

ICCI Campus Track Leader

As LSU's Senior Internationalization Officer, Samba Dieng heads the Office of Global Engagement as Executive Director and provides leadership and expertise on global engagement initiatives across the university.  

Originally from Senegal, Dieng came to the US as an undergraduate international student; this experience inspired his commitment to global education. He is active in organizations such the Institute of International Education (IIE), the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA), the American Council on Education (ACE), and the Association of Public Land-Grant Universities (APLU). Dieng also sits on the board of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and on the IDP US Advisory Board. 

Prior to his role at LSU, Dieng served as Director of International Students and Scholars at several institutions. He holds a doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was named a Presidential Fellow.
