Christine Brandel is an Associate Professor of English at Ivy Tech Community College, Bloomington, where she teaches composition, creative writing, and literature. Her poetry collection, A Wife is a Hope Chest, is forthcoming from Brain Mill Press.
Before coming to Ivy Tech, Brandel lived and taught in England. In 2010, she was part of the first cohort to participate in the Internationalization Collaborative Across Bloomington (ICAB). As an active member of Ivy Tech Bloomington’s Global Studies Committee, she has helped to expand global initiatives both on campus and in the classroom. This work has given her insight into the challenges of internationalization at the community college level, which she's been able to share as a conference speaker and consultant. She is a three time finalist for Ivy Tech Bloomington's President's Award for Excellence in Instruction.
