Paaige K. Turner, Ph.D. is a principal in Communication Resource Associates and Professor at Webster University. She is currently the president-elect for the Organization for the Study of Communication Language and Gender and is editing a special issue in the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research Bringing International Perspectives to the Communication Curriculum in an Era of Globalization. Dr. Turner was previously Executive Director of the National Communication Association and Associate Dean in the School of Communications at Webster University. As a scholar and consultant in the field of organizational communication, she has over 20 years of experience examining, documenting and theorizing how cultural beliefs and practices create, sustain and challenge ideological frameworks. Dr. Turner received the Central States New Teacher Award in 2000, the Saint Louis University (SLU) Faculty Excellence Award in 2003, SLU Star Award in 2007, and is a four-time finalist for the Outstanding Teaching Award. She was the recipient of the NAFSA: Association of International Educators Region IV 2012 Dorothy Brickman Outstanding New Professional Award and a 2013 Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award to India. Turner served as the program coordinator for the AIEA: Association of International Education Administrators Senior Advisor Program. She has published over 30 book chapters and articles in the general area of organizational communication and specifically on topics of organizational socialization, internationalization, midwifery and birth, breastfeeding and the body in the workplace.
