Full Biography
Dr. Keshia N. Abraham is a creative scholar-practitioner building intentional international communities of care for global leaders and learners especially within the African diaspora. This skilled educator, writer, speaker, dramaturg, and performer earned a PhD in Comparative Literature (emphasis on Postcolonial literature and Popular Education) from Binghamton University and a Bachelor’s degree with honors in English (emphasis on Women’s Studies) from Spelman College. Now President of Abraham Agency, she is an independent senior leader in International Education, who has previously served as Senior Director of Diversity and Inclusion at a large study abroad provider organization, Academic Dean, Department Chair, Program Director and tenured Associate Professor, most proudly at an HBCU. A two time Fulbright Fellow, with experience in nearly 50 countries, Keshia Abraham is also the recipient of the Forum on Education Abroad’s 2022 Peter A. Wollitzer Award. She has written numerous published essays, co-authored Black Victorians: Hidden In History (Duckworths Books 2022) with historian John Wolf and co-edited the highly anticipated book, The Half Yet to Be Told: Study Abroad at HBCUs (Forum on Education Abroad 2023) with Andre P. Stevenson. Keshia is in her second year as an artist-in-residence at Deering Estate, in Miami, Florida where she reflects, writes and creates between work-travel.
