Sumreen Asim

Professor of Science and Technology Education, Indiana University Southeast

Dr. Sumreen Asim is a professor of science and technology education at Indiana University Southeast, where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. With over two decades of experience, she is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections with educators through collaboration, mentorship, and a shared passion for learning.

Dr. Asim’s research focuses on STEM education, educational technology, and inquiry-based instructional approaches. She actively supports educators in implementing innovative teaching strategies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. A key aspect of her work involves internationalizing STEM education by integrating global perspectives into teacher preparation and professional development. 

Dr. Asim’s diverse experiences—both academic and personal—shape her inclusive and globally minded approach to education. An advocate for continuous growth, she thrives on lifelong learning and leadership development. Her strengths in communication, organization, and mentorship enable her to empower others while refining her own skills. She believes that education is most impactful when it is a shared journey, filled with curiosity, collaboration, and, of course, plenty of laughter and cups of coffee.
